About Guy
Professional Background and Qualifications
My journey to becoming a therapist reflects a deep understanding of human communication, personal development, and the pressures of modern life. After beginning my career in the performing arts, I transitioned to learning and development in the corporate sector, where I developed expertise in interpersonal dynamics and professional growth. This led me to executive coaching, then psychology, before I found my true calling in the realm of psychotherapy. In addition to working with clients in private practice, I also teach and tutor counsellors-in-training at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London Bridge.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology from the University of Derby and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (Merit) from the Psychosynthesis Trust. This diverse background gives me unique insight into the intersection of personal well-being and professional demands.
Personal Approach to Counselling
Each person brings unique experiences, challenges, and goals to counselling. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor our sessions to your specific needs and goals at each stage of your personal journey.
My approach integrates psychodynamic, humanistic, and transpersonal methods within a psychosynthesis framework. This means our work together may involve exploring unconscious patterns and internal conflicts, reconnecting with parts of yourself that feel lost or silenced, and working toward self-acceptance, insight, and meaningful change.
I bring a warm, engaging style combined with strong academic foundations. My love for this work stems from my own journey of personal healing and self-development over many years, so I know well what it is like to undertake a commitment to examine oneself, particularly the things that pain and limit us. Having spent years in the corporate world, I also understand the specific pressures of modern workplace environments and their impact on mental health and relationships.

Personal Story
My journey to becoming a counsellor reflects a deep and ongoing fascination with self-expression, personal growth, overcoming what limits us, and discovering who we are truly meant to be in this life. My path wasn't direct, but each step informed my understanding of human experience.
The performing arts taught me about authentic expression and the courage required to be vulnerable. It also brought me face-to-face with my fears and limiting self-beliefs, and set me on a path of inquiry and self-discovery. My corporate years showed me how workplace pressures can impact mental health and relationships. Executive coaching demonstrated the effectiveness of supportive guidance in facilitating meaningful change.
These experiences shaped my belief that counselling is most effective when it considers the whole person. I understand the demands of professional life, the challenge of major life transitions, and the courage it takes to seek support. Whether you're dealing with specific mental health concerns or simply feeling unclear about your direction, I'm here to provide a confidential space where you can explore, understand, and grow.
I continue to balance my therapeutic practice with corporate training and coaching work, keeping me connected to the evolving challenges people face in both personal and professional contexts.
